The rotation direction doesn't change when you add or remove power.

You don't have any kind of REVO mixing enabled do you?

Is the gyro in heading hold? The light should flash for 3 seconds then come on solid.

Disconnect the motor, initialize the gyro, and switch flight modes and move the throttle stick up and down and make sure the light stays solid the whole time
