The search is expected to continue today in an attempt to locate a small plane, missing since Monday night.  Alpha One is a white high-winged airplane that was lost Monday night, shortly before sunset.  The white airplane sporting red and orange trim is believed to have gone missing amoungs trees, brush, and dried swamp area, sometime around 8:30p.m. Monday.

Local squatter, Cooter Wills,  told reporters, "Me and my dog 'Beau" were sittin' on the stoop of my trailer whaen I hears this airplane.  Then we hears what sounded like a rifle shot and Beau runs under the trailer.  The silence following the rifle shot was deafening."

Tuesdays much needed rain hampered search efforts, but Search and Rescue officials stated they anticipate clear weather for their intended search of the area today.  Monday evenings search was called off due to darkness.

The low-time pilot of the airplane suggested that he lost orientation when the plane travelled between him and the setting sun.
He had no other comment.   Workers at the airfield where the Alpha was based told reporters, "We have dealt with this airplane in the past....."  They shook their heads and walked away.

A longtime friend of the pilot, located in Minneapolis Minnesota, was told about the incident.  He responded by falling to the ground in a fit of hysterical laughter.
