Default New Engine Pre-install prep

I just received my new LOSI 427 to put into my LST2. This is a replacement for the dynalite 427 that never ran correctly for me. I would like to get some use out of this motor. So I want to do it up right if you will.

1. I am going to pull it apart and check for burs or manufacturing defects.

2. I am going to seal all gaskets with a high temp silicone
-I have considered getting the marketed sealant for nitro motors but have decided to use what I have on hand and seems to work just fine.
-I apply a very thin uniform layer to prevent any excess squeezing out into the crankcase.

3. Swap motor
-I have not swapped motors on one of these before but I have removed my current one to inspect it. I am assuming that it will be the same except new motor goes in it's place
-I will be using the original clutch and I will watch the gear mesh when I finally install it.

4. I will follow all this with a Heat Cycle Break in and hopefully begin to enjoy my LST2.

Am I missing anything?
Do you have any suggestions?
