Default G-38 starting problem

I have had 4 G-38's in the last 15 years, and have flown them from -20 to 85 deg. and have only had them balk when the plug was fouled. Normal starting is choke it, 3-4 flips and it fires, choke off 2 more flips and she's running. I put compression at about 12:00 but start the prop swing from ~3:00, this gives it a little more speed as it comes around to fire. After you flip your for awhile, is the plug wet ???? sounds to me like it is not getting fuel.
