Ya I have read about this scam numerous times, and get this.. the next day I got an email from yet another scammer who was responding to my AD... instead of making an offer they emailed me directly... the person's email was
[email protected] which I reported to RCU Admins just in case they try to set up camp here...
One thing I have noticed is that alot of scammmers use Yahoo emails for some reason, be it craigslist, myspace, or anywhere that is usually a good indicator that something is amiss!
but yeah broken english, and insistence on paying by check just doesn't fly with me personally... especially when they want personal info like a phone number and my address.
I know how to identify a scam when I see one... the upside to this thread is so others can easily identify when they are about to be had! also to bring awareness to the rest of the community and the mods and admins that we have some shady folk trying to work on our turf
Oh and Oval you left out the part where the authorities come after you for being an accomplice in a scam sceme... At least in california they do... Had it happen to a couple of friends ho blindly walked into it, and thought they got a deal till johnny law cam a knocking asking questions...
