I plugged the bind plug into the charge jack as per the DX7 manual. Of course that didn't work. The manual led me astray.
You have to have the correct switch harniss for that to work. The one with the 3 wires on the charge line, also used for the DSC(direct servo control) cord, was not a fault of the manual. On page 18 of the manual I looked at shows the binding plug pluged into the charge plug and it shows 3 wires.
