I didn't mount a fuel plug on the cowl. I just added a bit of length to the fuel lines and pulled it back on top of the fuel tank. My tank and the fuel line are held in place with Velcro(TM) and I haven't had an issue since. Take a peek at the image...the fuel plug I use is the Great Planes Easy Fueler Valve. Link below:

Cheers!
Just droping in on this post.......
This plane looks great.....but...........
Do not EVER fuel your plane from the INSIDE of the fuse.....
NO matter what, you will drip fuel inside it....Fueler comes off while fueling, drips when done fueling, de-fueling......
It will wreck the wood in your plane and perhaps make your foam shrink, and you tank slip and move around....5-8 G's in these planes guys!>...

Mount the GP fueler on the botom of plane.... easy to do and the amount of mess is minamal....

Use larger magnets....and the canopy woos will be a thing of the past...

Just remember, to always use one magnet on the canopy, and one of the fuse (for each side)
I have used just one magnet, and then a washer on the mating surface, and it never holds well at all

keep up the good work....
