My son and I both use Futaba Super 8 radios. Not one problem. Love em...... Most of the people at our field use Futaba. So, it's only natural that many new comers do the same. When we moved up to programmable radios I looked for what the experienced members in our club were using, for a number of reasons. It sure helps to have people around who are more experienced with the radio when you have programming questions. Likewise, if someone is still working with you from time to time, they can easily run through the radio settings to provide a double check in making sure the settings are right.
