Hello.....
I bought FUTABA 4 channels radio and all of my friends whom fly airplanes said that JR is better?
They said that futaba servos hangs sometimes and cause the plane crash....
My planes named: Super frontier..size 20
It's high wing and good for the begginers .. The engine am using on it is OS 23 with square head...
Let me know which is better.. The JR or the FUTABA.. because am thinking of getting a Heli.. And as you all know.. I need something Advanced and worth
Let me know

your friend is talking out his &$$
few people in our club use Junior Radio
those who do get teased and asked regularly if THEY are still controling the plane. hehehehe
however, if hes on JR, then it might make sence to get the same so you can train with him, or swap bits easy

Hitec is better!!
No really, that question can be beat to death. Something like Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Toyota??
I would get what the majority of people at your field use. Perhaps you can buddy box up with them and get some help.

Let's see, I own a Futaba (actually, it's a "Tower", but it's really a Futaba in disguise), a JR, an old Aristocraft/Hitec, and a Polk.
There is nothing about a JR or a Futaba or anything that makes one really better than the other. Depending on the particular TX or RX or servo or whatever, you'll find all kinds of options and piles of different opinions.
I've never heard of Futaba servos just locking up and causing a crash.
For a beginner, the best reason to choose a make of radio is to match whatever trainer boxes are available.

Vote for hitec flash 5. its features and price beat futaba . I specially like the inflight timer and alarm (futaba 6xa doesnt have that) people in the field say hitec has better range too. flash five system X is $172. by the way i dont work for hitec

I have two JR's, an 8103 and a 662. The only crash I have ever had was my fault nothing to do with radio or servos. Just be careful not to buy my thumb at your LHS. Basically, I agree with cruzomatic. Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Toyota, Yugo. Well maybe not Yugo.

I also prefer Hitec radios ,they give an excellent value for the money.
but between futaba and JR I would choose the futaba, for the same reason, JR radios are over priced for what really equates to no additional value,
for the helis take a look at the 9 C radios by futaba.

I have only ever had two radio caused aircraft losses. Both were due to the same Futaba radio. Lost one, sent in the radio, they repaired, lost first plane flown after that. (Never had a problem with the servos, it was the transmitter)
I switched to Hitec because I couldn't trust Futaba, and Hitec gets me more value for my money than JR or Multiplex.

I have two radios, one being a Hitec Flash Five and the other a Futaba 6A Skysport. Both of these radios are really good. I crashed my first plane with Hitec, due to pilot error, into concrete and it came out unscaved. It now has a home in my WM Super Stunts 40 and it works excellent! Never had a problem with it. They have good features and are of the highest quality. The Futaba is in my Ultra Sport 40 and I have never had any trouble with it either. So I say Hitec or Futaba, but everyone has their own opinon, this is just mine.

Your friend is full of shi*!. Futaba servos don't cause crashes. Thats almost as dumb as saying..... Well I won't go there. People become brand loyal and will say anything to make thiers sound better. I personally am a futaba person, but all the radios on the market have their good and bad points. All work well for the most part and none have a genetic problem that cause crashes. Use which ever you like. You won't have a problem like he described.

Either one is perfectly fine!! Go with what your trainer is using so you can buddy cord the tx's, as phillybaby and Montague mentioned. Personally I use a Futaba tx and Hitec flight packs....best value per $$ in my opinion.

Go with Glowplugs advice, use what is most used at your club. All major brands are good and will give you good service. I use Futaba and Hiteck mostly but have also used the others and find that all have been very good. some feel better in my hands than the others do but that is a personal preference. As a frequent instructor, I use all brands and the only brand that ever gave us trouble was the trainer switch on some Airtronics units, out of over a dozen of them, six had the trainer switches fail in use.

Futaba, JR, and Hitec are all good transmitters. Feature for feature, they are close. THe only difference between the units is the looks and how it programs if it is a computer radio. Other than that, the quality is the same.

My son and I both use Futaba Super 8 radios. Not one problem. Love em...... Most of the people at our field use Futaba. So, it's only natural that many new comers do the same. When we moved up to programmable radios I looked for what the experienced members in our club were using, for a number of reasons. It sure helps to have people around who are more experienced with the radio when you have programming questions. Likewise, if someone is still working with you from time to time, they can easily run through the radio settings to provide a double check in making sure the settings are right.
