Have you tried replacing the transmitter batteries with new ones. All these symptoms can point to them needing renewed or recharged if you are using rechargeable ones in tranny. Leaving it off for a while gives them a chance to recover slightly which gives the intermittent effects you are having plus it is easier than opening everything up.
