Default reciever and remote problem

hi,
just encountered a problem...
1st my tank was runnng well after like 15 minutes it started to jerk in bout 20 feet away from me.. i thought the battery if low so i took it back inside the house..
after charging it i switched on the tank and all lights are on together with the controller.. but the tank itself woundnt start.. so what i did is took off the contronller's batteries and inserted it back.. when i pressed the ignition, the tank started but it wouldnt move.. and i turned it off again.. then remove the remote's bat.. then again it started then it move a lil forward then stoped.. and it wouldnt shut off so i have to turn the main power off... so i dont know what wrong is it the reciever or the controller?

Hey Daryl,

If you do not have another radio or other set of crystals to try out,, then the next step is too open her up! Maybe the turret movement cought the antenna wire inside or something?

I came across a similar issue last night. I was testing a tank after installing an asiatam recoil unit when it stopped responding to the controller. The engine noise was still running but nothing else worked and it wouldn't shut down until I turned off the main power switch. I turned it back on, flashing lights but no response. Checked the crystals, the tx, the connections, the ariel, charged the battery, and still nothing.
I was about to call it a night when I gave it one more try and the engine noise started up and lights stopped flashing but it wouldn't respond to any other commands including shut down. In frustration I unplugged everything from the board (RX18) checked it for any obvious damage, and plugged it back in I fired it up and no response at all, not even engine noise just flashing lights. At this stage I just assumed something had blown the board and went to bed wondering what had gone wrong. [:@]
I woke up this morning and thought I'd give it one more try before I went to work. I have no idea why yet but it started up and everything was responding as normal. I need to connect everything back up properly and re-tidy the cables over the weekend so if I find out what happened I'll let you know.
If anyone else can shed some light on this one I'd be interested to hear it. At this stage I'm assuming it was a bad connection but I have no idea where?

Have you tried replacing the transmitter batteries with new ones. All these symptoms can point to them needing renewed or recharged if you are using rechargeable ones in tranny. Leaving it off for a while gives them a chance to recover slightly which gives the intermittent effects you are having plus it is easier than opening everything up.

Cheers

I put new batteries in the transmitter last week and it's only been used for testing so it's unlikely but still definatly a possibility. I'll hopefully get time to do a bit of investigation today.

Hi, just try this before you disembowel anything, the dividers in the centre of the picture remove them or when you put the batterys in push each line of batterys from the spring end forward
