RE: So i flew a Trainer today and
I'm finishing my third season now still with my first plane, repaired a couple of times of course. Its a Hangar 9 Arrow, not the most acrobatic plane on the planet but its got enough to keep me interested. I just started trying rolling circles tonight. I'm sure the tower trainer isn't too far off. You'll find that in the hands of the proficient your trainer will do many things you never thought possible... When my instructor did a near perfect rolling circle with my plane I was pretty sure I'd get solid mileage out of it... A trainer isn't the best balanced plane or the most aerodynamic for a lot of manouvers, but you'll find that your control gets much better when you have to correct mid manouver, aileron in a big loop for example, or a bit of elevator in a roll to maintain you altitude.... I went for a ride in a Citabria last week and having been in a plane that has snap rolled you get a sense of what the plane is actually doing. My r/c snaps, even with a trainer can be very nice...with a bit of practice.
