A DL stock muffler is not a pitts muffler or even a muffler at all. It's just an exhaust diverter that helps loose airfields in congested areas.

The extra weight over a Pitts style muffler is minimal.
I have to disagree on this one. I just weighed my DL stock muffler at 3.4 ounces. What's your header and pipe weigh? A pound at least? There's a big weight difference here.
Maybe you are refering to a Slimline wrap around which weighs about 11 ounces?
