I have had servos in the bottoms of the wing forever, and never a problem. I used external servos when I built a Kadet Sr for my son, and it survived float flying.
Search for other threads on this: Ed Moorman recommends a particular brand of servos that are specifically waterproof.
If in doubt: A dab of vaseline on the shaft, case joint, and wire entry.
