Default RE: YS170 CDI

Hi Amran,

I ran CDi in my Proline earlier in the year and eventually settled on a 1250 mAh 2S FP Lipo, which was sufficient for three flights, lasting about 12-14 min flying PO9 using 25% nitro / 10% KL198 oil. This powered both Futaba 2.4 GHz 608 Rx / 2 of 9150 / 2 of 9151 / 1 of 9650 servos AND CDi unit with about 350 mAh to spare. Voltage reduced down to ~7.7V. I think weight on that installation was ~140g. Never had a radio problem and this was ground tested power on intially.

My new Axiome is closer to the limit and for one competition flight only, I will use a 2S 800 mAh Lipo to run both CDi and R/C. So I'll be carrying round about four of these per competition. The pack weighs 44g and goes through the standard Digi switch as a regulator. I have a small ferrite ring close to the receiver though I've never tried removing this. For practice flying I'll stick with the 1250 mAh packs.

Just weighed the ignition unit, mounting, switch and extension lead to Rx and comes to 125g

Best wishes

Keith
