New OS 46FX Problems?

I just bought an OS 46FX "NIB" from someone on this forum.
It looks OK, BUT when I turn it over by hand without a glow plug instlalled, there are clicking sounds at top dead center. Also with the piston top dead center, the crank can be turned about 5 degrees with no piston movement-just clicking sounds. These sound very much what I imagine a rod or wrist pin slop.

How ever, when I put the glow plug in (how long have they been selling incomplete engnes?), the engine sounds just fine when I flip the prop.

I have not put fuel in or tried to start it.

Do I have a problem, or is this normal for this engine?

Any ideas?
