OK we have the fix for this potential problem, it affects a limited number of P-160s. All affected owners and dealers were contacted today regarding the details.
Yup - my engine is one of the affected ones, and Bob contacted me early today to arrange for it's return. If I heard it correctly (?), there were only 7 engines affected in total. With odds like that, I guess I just got lucky !
Hey Matt -- the phone line was a little fuzzy at one point ... did I hear correctly ? I'm getting a free P70 for the inconvenience ?
BTW, I know that the fix involves replacing a PCB inside the engine, but are you able to explain at all what the actual problem was ? Just nosy, and wanting to understand a bit more about how these engines work.
Later,
Gordon
BTW - I just heard that I got the number wrong. I heard the figure of 7 from my wife who told me that "Bob Fillbox"
left a voicemail on our answering machine about the recall. Given the poor quality of our recorder and the mangling of Bob's surname, that's why I placed a question mark on the figure above. Just goes to show how easily the info gets corrupted even when you are trying to be careful ! Appolgies for any unintentional misinformation.
