Hey Mike,
I understand how thicker airfoils work, but what is the principle behind thicker trailing edges? I think Dave Von Linsowe (maybe somebody else) experimented with thicker TEs at least 10 years ago. The TE was actually thicker than the surface immediately in front of it.
