RE: Uproar 40 or 60 and why?
I have both. I don't believe that Tower is selling the Uproar 60 any more though. The Uproar 40 is a great plane. It is fast fun and very nimble. It's roll rate is very fast and is solid as a rock through all maneuvers. The 40 is not a 3d plane and it will not knife edge. If you are wanting this for a second plane I would say it may be a little too much, but this all depends on how you fly. If you use good throttle management this plane flies great slow and fast. It is very stable flying slow and lands slow as well. It is a plane that will keep you happy for years. I have recovered mine and have been flying it for 5 years. It is still one of my favorites. The Uproar 60 is a great plane as well but very different than the 40. The 60 is slower and more graceful in the air. The thick large wings do hold down the speed on this plane. It is a heavy and solid plane that can take a hit. I found out by doing a loop too low and smacking the ground flat with the landing gear. The plane just bounced up and I couldn't believe that I still had control to land it. I had no damage except for the landing gear through monocote on the wings. The landing gear is too short It could use another inch to raise the prop off the ground. The short gear is not a problem just as long as you are not prone to striking the prop on landing. You will need a larger that 60 size motor on the Uproar 60, and anything in the 40-46 size is more than enough for the Uproar 40. The 40 and the 60 both do everything well without any bad tendencies. You will have fun with either. Happy Flying.
