Ever since Kaz's Taurus sold for a bazillion dollars, the market has gone through the roof...

I watched a NIB Taurus kit sell for $600+ soon after that too. Just shook my head in amazement. Makes you wonder who is really buying these kits. My theory is mostly resellers and not builders. Most builders know what the value is, and unless it's got sentimental ties, just won't go that high.
I missed out on a sale yesterday on a fantastic NIB Royal (just Royal, not R/M) P-26 Peashooter. I had my limit set at $350, which was looking good at $265 with 5 minutes left. I wasn't going higher, and walked away. When I checked back after the auction ended, it had bid 9 additional times and sold at $405.
Man, I wanted to build that one. Just not enough to spend that much on it though.

Hooray for the builders who do.
Anyone have a P-26 for sale?
How hard is it to cut you own kit from plans?? Builders don't need kits, kits make it easier but if you do a search you can find the builders plans. I opened up one of my MAN plans catalog and right there in front of me is a 84 inch P-26A It's a Dan Santich design and {this is an old catalog} cost $35.00. Anyone needing smaller planes, they are out there too.
I keep harping on this subject but builders better be making up templates of any and all kits they buy so when they are no longer made we can keep them alive. It's not hard and going to be well worth the trouble in the future!!
