Use a slow moving drill to drill thru the axle. To secure the piano wire inside the axle, I bend 3 mm of the tip of the outer end of wire and anchor it into the axle . After secured with glue, and put into position inside tank, I bend the other end so that the bent wire rest on the inside of the opposite side of the tank. It is easily seen from the photo in the video.
