Engine locator on the firewall..
Half inch piece wood or aluminum, slightly larger than the engine mounting bolt pattern..Drill 4 engine mount bolt pattern holes in the block..Drill a 1/4 inch hole exactly on the crankshaft centerline in the block...Put a 1/4 inch perfectly straight rod in the centerline hole...Lay the block on the firewall, center the rod in the cowl opening..Mark and drill the 4 mount holes in the firewall...
The syssa has a three bolt pattern and comes with plastic templates with centerlines, mount holes, etc...
Antique knows that! It is also for the benifit for people who own 90 percent of engines that have 4 bolt to secure them to firewall. The same principle applies to the 3 bolt engines like the SASSY (mean) engine.
