RE: servo interference
Well, not sure what you mean by keeping bits. Most people would just buy a new servo.....comes with the wiring and plug already attached.
Now if it were me, I'd check that 3-conductor cable to make sure none of the individual wires are broken (open-circuit) and if OK, trim the ends and re-solder to the circuit board. If not OK, the cable is probably loing enough you can cut out the pinched part and then re-terminta the cable by soldering to the circuit board. Just make some notes so you can remember whihc wire goes where.
OH...."bits"....you mean the servo "horn" probably. Basically, you buy a new servo and don't throw anything out until the new servo is installed and working.
