Good job.
My brother in law is about the same as you. He takes off and flies just fine, yet when he does the approach, he over shoots. He does better when I talk him though it. When to drop power, when to start his flare and so on. It takes time to learn how to fly at slower speed.
Try this, do some SLOW fly bye's at say 50 feet up. Just try to get it to slow down and stay above the runway. Do a couple of those each flight and you will be slowing it down for landing.
The more time in the air, the more fun you have, so do a lot of flying.
