Usually there's a lot to upgrade in cheaper cars, when you get Kyosho, Mugen or Losi you can just go racing with them with no need to upgrade as the quality parts are already there.
Look for the upgrade parts prices add it to the car price you want and then compare prices, the D8 has too much plastic on the high impact parts, it's well designed that's why it runs great, not because it has the best materials.
