I know the D8 don't have alot of "bling bling" on it but why is it so much cheaper than the other kits? or are the other kits just over priced? I'm thinking of picking one up as my first buggy kit but the low price is making me think twice. i'm thinking cheap price = cheap quality. i need help making a decision.

I don't know about CHEAP the buggy does perform pretty good, but i do remember when it came out there was a big problem with the CVD jokes snapping like twigs. I don't know if this is still a issue or if it's bein fixed

i don't know about the price point, but if you youtube atsushi hara who is the1/8 scale buggy world champ, they examine his d8 he admitted there were a lot of aftermarket parts, nothing wrong with that they all do it .its like nascar i'm sure you guys notice all the stickers on their cars,it's called sponsors.the kits are over priced they all could sell at that price, and we wonder why we cant get more followers.</p>

I personally chose a Losi 8ight over the D8 and now in a trade, I'm getting a D8. My reasoning for getting the 8ight was just researching and driving both. The 8ight felt more natural to me rather than the D8. But as mentioned it's all about driving.
The D8 is obviously popular because Hara drove it to the winners circle. I'm pretty sure he had parts on that one that weren't available to the public, but who knows.
Either way, enjoy whatever you get.

Bigmane42, about racing, i dont think i'd race it right now. just wanna practice and do a little bashing. i live in hawaii, not too much racing going on over here. i just want to make sure the car can handle a crash.

Not sure where you are in Hawaii, but there's a really nice offroad park called The Sandbox. I guess they've got BMX, MotoX and RC tracks there.
Just did some research and it's located in downtown Honolulu, Beachfront, near Waikiki. So now, I'm gonna get off RCU and start hitting up Craigslist for jobs in Hawaii

yeah i know The Sandbox. the only problem is they're only open on sundays. and they're only open for about 3hrs. not much time to practice. i'd rather go down to an empty lot and do it there. and yeah, go find a job over here, that way you can help me out with all my RC questions!

EVEN MORE THE REASON TO GET THE D8,UPGRADE YOUR TIERODS AND SHOCK TOWERS THAT WAY YOUR SUSPENSION CAN HOLD UP.TAKE YOUR TIME AND BUILD IT WELL LOCKTITE EVERYTHING THAT NEEDS TO BE AND GET A GOOD SPEKTRUM RADIO

Usually there's a lot to upgrade in cheaper cars, when you get Kyosho, Mugen or Losi you can just go racing with them with no need to upgrade as the quality parts are already there.
Look for the upgrade parts prices add it to the car price you want and then compare prices, the D8 has too much plastic on the high impact parts, it's well designed that's why it runs great, not because it has the best materials.

fastest driver at the track I run wheels a d8....give him a mugen and it would be a mugen, give him a losi and it would be a losi (see the trend??..lol)...
as far as getting a car that will handle a crash,...they all can...funny thing is you may jump 10ft high land and not break a thing....hit a rut wrong and snap a tie rod...it happens, they all break....

i dont think the d8 has any more plastic than the losi eight. i had both and kept the d8. i know a lot
of people had problems with the cvds. however i never did. come to think of it i have not broken
anything on either one of my d8s. its not a 700 buck buggy. but it fits my driving style just fine. great
buggy for the price.
