I use my MCX with the provided controller. I use the MSR with my Sketrum DX7. I don't mind the provided controller as it is simpler to carry around. Not much more offered with a better controller (other than possibly throttle/pitch curve adjustments which I don't use for the MSR). I bought the MSR as BNF to save money - I think it would be fine with the controller provided (and it's much lighter).
