I thought ejection seats were for extreme emergencies? If you get into trouble hit the eject, at least then you can say the pilot survived the crash even if your $$$$ plane is in a pile of burning wood and composite. You may also try to save the plane by having the seat pull out a big chute to gently lower your plane if you have enough altitude.
