RE: Seagull Gee Bee Z
Doe's the new strut combo come with the rear support wire , I have asked a couple of times but have not had an answer yet.
I think this may be half of the problem, if they got rid of this rear support it would be a big mistake in my opinion.
I have after market struts but they are still secured onto the wire buy Grub screws ,however that rear support does alot in making sure the strut absorbs the shock instead of the strut & wire flexing rearward ,Plus I have it secured to the strut with a hose clamp secured very tightly which I,m sure also keeps the strut straight instead of being turned on a rough landing.
I asked a while ago whether the blocks for the rear brace wire is still in the newer versions wing , but once again got no reply.
I think this is the biggest problem with this kit ( the landing gear ) but I don t know whether I have just fluked it or what but my set up seems to work very very well in regards to hard landings, fast landings etc ( not the greatest RC pilot ) no twisting ,lots of shock absorption the only real issue I have is with direction changes due to the narrow track ( dropping a wing ) If we nut this landing gear problem out then just about anyone will be able to fly this model as it behaves so well when it,s up doing it;s thing.
Share your thoughts & set up's please !!.
