I would also assume there is a reason for the longer plugs used on the SuperTigre, Tower Hobbies, and other engines manufactured ( supposedly ) in the same plant.

In practice, the longer plug keeps the coil out of any fuel pooling, especially with an inverted mount engine.

Substituting the shorter O.S. plug removes this advantage.
