When I built mine, I was considering building a set of floats for it so I put a Saito 125GK in mine with no spacer. The motor had more than enough power for the plane. Unfortunately, the plane didn't survive the maiden flight so Iwas never able to fly it off the water. Transmitter set up error on my part, i.e. pure stuidity...[:@]
