The problem with this hobby (aeromodeling) is that flying season is too short. We are coming to the end of winter. Next will come mud season with high winds. Around mid May the winds will calm down, the field will dry out, and flying season will begin in earnest. Then we have 4 or 5 months of good flying. Come October the days will be too short to fly after work and I will be limited to the occasional weekend day that I can get free.
