Yes I did, TF IMHO did not engineer the landing gear mounts to be strong enough to handle the not so perfect landing. The landing mount area needs to be beefed up considerable. I glassed both sides of the ribs and made a 1/4" ply rib that went past the spar then sandwich the glassed rib between the two ply ribs.
This photo is from my GS p-47, but I use the same method for all my retract plans.
