I think i get it. So the fender isn't a wire grate? More like a diamond plate on a tool box? That kind of sucks.

Thanks for the info on the holes by the fender. Was wondering what the hell those were for on my tank. Although I can't visibly see the holes on this particular tank from the few resource pictures I have, I have diagram drawings that show otherwise. Not sure where to go on this one.
