Frets, Great story about your Grandfather and the P51.  With all the work you put into and with the family story,  I would be afraid to fly it!  It's a great model regardless.  I found other photo's of it on the Royal  link you gave me,  it really is an obvious labor of love.

BTW, I moved to ABQ in 1982 and at that time the big LHS was Duke City Hobbies on Wyoming and Menaul.  I acually bought my kit from Valley Hobbies which was on 4th street.  I couldn't remember one on Montgomery, but that was a few years ago.
