I've owned both and I prefer the Slash personally. I race my Slash 2wd w/ buggy adapters on it and a BL VXL system in it. I'm very pleased. As for the Rusty, I didn't find it to be that durable and I always had a problem with the pinions stripping no matter what I did. I gave up on it and sold it as a roller.

It's a matter of choice and opinion but from personal experience I would take a Slash any day.
