There is no way to answer that question. What are you trying to do with it? Do you mean better speed, handling, durability, looks?

They're similar in terms if quality and performance. The differences are cosmetic, and with regards to handling.

ok. Im looking for something that i can use in grass, dirt, ans street. Something to have fun with at the park while the kids are playing. It also needs to be able to handle a beating.

I've owned both and I prefer the Slash personally. I race my Slash 2wd w/ buggy adapters on it and a BL VXL system in it. I'm very pleased. As for the Rusty, I didn't find it to be that durable and I always had a problem with the pinions stripping no matter what I did. I gave up on it and sold it as a roller.

It's a matter of choice and opinion but from personal experience I would take a Slash any day.

I would have to say the Rustler VXL! Funny, the post above says he had problems with the pinions but dont you really mean the spur? Probably due to over tight slipper. Both are fun and bashable. Both have the same tranny and drive line. The Slash is big and heavy so the stock shocks like to pop their tops. The Rustler likes to wheelie. Both are fun as heck.

Yeah, spurs. Oops my bad. And I never ran it too tight, it just continually stripped no matter how much I adjusted it. I've never had that problem with my Slash and I'm always top 5 in A Mains.

The rustler would be better off road than the slash IMO. Id probably take the rustler and turn it into a stampede

I never have problems stripping spurs in my stampede. Maybe you had the mesh too loose or your slipper shaft was bent rast4man. I dont know of anyone else who has had that problem.

i would have to say the RUSTLER . i personally own one and its a blast with a 5000mah lipo. but be VERY carful buying a used one. i bought one for $250 and rode it through water and now i went through 1 brushless motor and now the esc. so i would recomend not running it through water. but anyways i would say the rustler vxl. the slash is fun to (i had one). so it doesnt matter really. there both fun

Also would have to chose a rusty. They both have their strengths and weaknesses but for my the Rusty VXL gets driven more. The slash is a good truck and still a lot of fun but that parachute they call a body really inhibits its jumping abilities where I run at, once the wind gets under it theres nothing you can do to bring it back.

For street driving and just general use EITHER are great, decide on what looks best to you.

i say slash. to fix the "parachute" body when jumping just cut some air holes and no more problem.
i've had both and for speed or street runs get a rusty(or just get an onroad car).
if you want something with ground clearence for offroading or track racing get the slash.
