I've tried a variety of options on mine. The O rings for me did not work very well due to the fact that they just didn't seem to have the spring to them like rubber bands do. I was not able to find shock cord (bungee) in a small enough diameter to work on the gear. I use shock cord on my Hempel 40% cub and it works great. Seems to me I always end up back at the rubber band solution and like stated earlier change them out after a few outings to the field. Jerry.
