RE: Modeltech Super Cub
I flew my cub for the first time this weekend. Powered it with a Turnigy 42-60 500KV motor. The 5000 mah 5S pack balances the plane very well and I'm getting about 100 watts/lb out of the system. To get around taking the wing off to replace the battery I did not glue the wind screen in, but rather let the top of the wind screen slide between the wing assembly fuse then used two small servo screws on each side at the bottom - works like a charm and I can get my whole hand inside to connect the battery and make any other adjustments.
I replaced the tail wheel with a custom made rod that will accept a larger wheel, but I think I will end up replacing the whole assembly with one from Dubro.
