well the stampede ur gona be able to drive over a little rougher stuff. but the slash is 4 wheel drive. i think the stampede would be a good choice for bashing with friends, but if you ever wana race the slash is the way to go no question. my first rc was a stampede back in 2000. anything traxxas is always top quality. welcome to the addiction of rc.
