Maybe this is a better analogy:

First, this highway has many lanes, not just a few.

Second, there are red, blue, green, yellow and many other colored cars driving bumper-to-bumper in every lane at the speed of light, so they would appear to just be a blur.

But your receiver only "sees" the blue cars.
