The lesser temp might help ,but I think the problem was in the plastic case housing the input bearing from the engine.The engine would get so hot that it would transfer the heat into the gear box bearing and then distort the plastic housing which would then allow the gears to misalign and strip.They made an upgrade out of aluminum that did help.If you have all the parts I would try it and maybe if you don't run the engine to lean and to long at a time it might last.I would also try to build a fan housing and maybe install an extra electric computer type fan to make the cooling exit the fuse as most of them just blew back over the engine and right up into the front of the fuse and then it recirculated in the fuse making things really hot.

If I was to put in a modern mechnics ,it would probably be the xcell type as they are pretty easy to mount in to about anthing and if the stacked frame version is to wide then maybe the older bent frame or the new fury type would be narrow enough.

It would be neat to fly it as is ,for demo purposes at funflys and such.I have an old Dubro 505 that I am working on and would like to do the same .So as to show the youngins where we all came from.
