On one gasser, I noticed that vibrations were reduced GREATLY when the cylinder was at TDC with the prop horizontal to the motor.

The prop I used was fully balanced too.

As a result of the above I've taken to doing the same with my other engines.

I've also seen this suggested on other threads... but your results may vary.
