Default RE: Help needed from Jet Modelers

ORIGINAL: iiievolution

Hello

Here in Cyprus, the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) has been giving us some trouble lately for flying our jets at a British MoD airbase ( the British have no problem with us ). They say that we are in too close proximity with Larnaca international airport, which is 22 km or 13.6 statute miles away. Also this airbase is officially marked as a danger-restricted area for civil aircraft.

Does anybody here now of, or flys from a modeling club or airfiled that is in close proximity with an international or civilian airport?

This information will help us a lot. They told us that if this is the case in other locations around the world, then they would allow us again to use this airfield.

We have been flying jets here without any problems for the last 6 years.

Thanks in advance for any information.

Paul

we are located less then 10 km away from MAA netherlands.
on take of and landing the cross even our field.
we have a direct phone number with the tower and they have our phone number at the field.
we have to be online if we are flying , and our limit is 300 ft in therorie :-).
and it has worked fine for the last 20 years or so.
just speak with those guys about these small rules they will feel happy
