In this thread I don't see the physical size of the motor. A 28mm x 35mm may only draw 30A where a 36mm x 65mm may draw 80A and a 39mm x 100mm may draw 180A. All 2700kv on 4s

I’d imagine the OP would be fine with a 120A ESC as it’s pretty standard but lets not assume. Especially since a very hot setup will be used. – 4s on a 2700kv motor.

What hull is this setup for? What length is the hull? What prop is being used?

Ryan

The length of my motor is around 72mm, I am running 4S Lipos parallel. My hull length is 32'' deep vee mono. The prop being used is the one supplied with the boat in ARTR condition which is a brass unbalanced and unsharepend prop which has a diameter of roughly 42mm, I have tried sharpening it myself.
I would say that motor is probably very capable of pushing 100+ amps. The 42mm prop will place a great amount of load on the ESC and batteries. Your hull being on the larger side of the 4s region needs a decent prop. The weight and load itself will increase current draw. You may get away with using a 120A ESC but it's tough to tell.

I personally would run a different motor with a larger prop.
