Default RE: Flying log.

I started logging my flights a few months ago after reading about it on another forum. The poster there commented they had found it very useful.

Not sure yet how useful it is but it really isn't that hard to do and what amazes me is how many good flights I have. It has helped me realize that while the bad flights certainly cause angst, they are not as common as we might think they are.

It doesn't really take much effort and it is good to stop after a flight and think about what was remarkable or not. Try it with a simple bit of notepaper and see how you go.

I record the date, the approx time, the duration of the flight, the plane, the wind conditions and how the flight went. If I've had to adjust the mixture, I record that.

When I say I'm amazed at how many good flights, I'm still a fairly new to the sport (just under 2 years of flying). That isn't an attempt to brag, just to encourage the other newcomers out there to recognize that they are doing fairly well at times even when they think they aren't.
