Default RE: Sky Master F-16 Conversion and Facelift

ORIGINAL: AndyAndrews

A little off topic but what did you settle on (powertrain wise) for your Starfire? I want to do the same for mine. Its really light and I think perfect for edf.

Can you give me the complete list of items needed for the conversion?

Thanks,
Andy
Hi Andy,

I ended up using the BVMEVF 5612 fan. I also used the BVM inlet adapter. Its a fiberglass adapter designed to fit the BVM fan in the ducting from the glow fan days. BVM no longer sells the EVF 5612 fan, it has been replacedwith the new EVF-2 fan. The EVF-2 is a few ounces lighter, produces 1/2 pound more thrust, and runs at a lower amp draw.

A list of things needed for the conversion:
- BVMEVF-2 fan (includes motor and controller) it's a true plug-and-play setup.
- BVMInlet adapter
- Batteries Thunder Power 12 cell45C 6400 mAh batteries
- Mylar to make an exhaust tube

Everything else was stock from the kit, including the glow fan ducting. Mine weighed 15 pounds ready to fly with batteries.

If I can help in any other way, please feel free to contact me.
