I don't mean to be an a**hole here, but you never-ever fly a plane/heli, or ride a car for that matter, if you know everything is not 100%. This is part of this hobby one should learn and respect. I'm not saying they were right or that they were wrong - this is not the point I'm trying to make here. If you suspect a faulty servo for instance (even just suspect) then you leave the plane on the ground - this goes for everything on a plane.
