I wonder how the EZ Beat On 50 compares to the Koysho Oxalys 50 in size, weight, wingspan and so on?? I know (according to a thread on the Oxalys) that allot of guys put a YS 63 on that plane...
I have an Oxalys 50 with a YS 45 two stroke and Hatori pipe turning a 12x6 APC prop...I can make it through the Intermediate (402) schedule with some "power management" (eg. I have to come on earlier and harder with the power than you would with the 4 stroke)...I got the grunt to do everything pretty well if I don't miss the power application...If I'm late on applying power..it's over and I'll run out of energy and have to make the maneuver smaller than it should be...
-But-
I just switched to a 13x4 APC prop and I think that may be the ticket...I think this may have helped my vertical authority a bit...I only have one or two flights but from what I can tell so far it seems to be substantially better than the 12x6...
CG is a concern with the YS 63 on the Oxalys...I know guys said they were winding up nose heavy when using a Hyde mount and YS 63 combo on that plane...Apparently they flew wonderfully though...So it's nothing you cant overcome with some "planning" during construction and you may still have to add some lead to the tail...You will have enough power so you don't have to worry about a little lead...I actually bought a YS 63 for my Oxalys but decided to save it for another plane (Osmose 70) and put the YS 45 on the Oxalys...
Here is a link to the Oxalys which is what I have for comparison:
