No, it would not be a good starter plane. R/C is like life. You need to crawl before you can walk. Get set-up with a full-house trainer, and an instructor pilot, and learn the correct, economical way. Visit your local flying club and see what's out there. Talk to other pilots and instructors, and follow their recommendations. Also stop over in the beginners forum here, on RCU.
If you don't start out right, you may, or may not learn to fly, but you will spend a large amount of cash.
